To create the composition of this painting, I was inspired by three elements from different works from the «Musée d’Art Moderne, Département des Aigles» by Marcel Broodthaers. The first was the soldier and the eagle from «Six lettres ouvertes Avis», a graphic work by Broodthaers (1972). The second, the commas of the work «Cinéma Modèle», a plastic sheet molded in a vacuum and painted (1970); and the third, Le Coq beach that appears in the photographs that document the creation of «Section Documentaire» (1969), in the coastal area of the municipality of De Haan, on the Belgian coast.
There is a narrative within Art History that deals with artists who have created their own museums, such as Marcel Duchamp’s «Boîte-en-valise», Robert Filliou’s «Galerie Légitime» and the «Musée d’Art Moderne, Département des Aigles» by Marcel Broodthaers. To continue this narrative I founded the “Davis Museum,” located in a voting booth and disseminated through social media. This museum is at the same time a «ready-made» sculpture, a collection of small-format contemporary art, an online digital archive, a non-profit collective art project and a cultural entity recognized by the Generalitat of Catalonia.
