Product Details

The painting is formally inspired by the work of Anders Zorn (1860–1920), a master of portraiture and light, known for his «Zorn Palette» (yellow ochre, cadmium red, ivory black, and titanium white). Through this limited range, Zorn achieved great tonal richness and atmospheric depth, in dialogue with the European painting tradition.

Beyond this technical reference, the work is embedded in a conceptual narrative linked to video art and performance, taking as its reference a still from the video Teaching and Learning As Performing Arts Part II: Travelin’ Light – It’s a Dance, Really (1979) by Robert Filliou. In this piece, the artist performs a symbolic gesture of personal reconciliation, which in the painting is reinterpreted as a reflection on art as a space of autonomy and creative resistance.
