The painting draws on historical images of the interior of the Musée d’Art Moderne, Département des Aigles, Section XIXe Siècle (1968), conceived by Marcel Broodthaers at 30 Rue de la Pépinière in Brussels. From this material, the space is reconstructed through an AI-assisted process, in which the documentary source shifts toward a synthetic image—contained, precise, and open.

Broodthaers’ exhibition device—structured through empty transport crates and reproductions of 19th-century works affixed to the wall—established a logic grounded in absence and substitution. This structure carries into the painting as a latent organization, where elements are reconfigured within an unstable field between storage, transit, and display.

The directional arrows, derived from the signage developed by the artist for the “Section Cinéma,” introduce an operative dimension within the composition.
